Safety Orientation

Welcome to ETA!

This section provides information that new hire personnel should find useful in getting oriented to working safely at Berkeley Lab and ETA. This includes ETA-specific "New Hire Orientation" training materials and links to websites that new hire personnel should be aware of.

New personnel will be assigned to one or more Work Activities. A Work Activity identifies the scope of work that will be performed and any hazards and controls associated with that work. The Work Activity will also trigger certain safety training requirements. Most training courses are available on-line at Berkeley Lab Training and should be completed within the first 30 days of employment. Other training is performed directly through the work lead or supervisor and is called "On The Job Training" or OJT

Be sure to review the New Hire Safety Orientation slides below, depending on your job category.
