Electrical Safety

The LBNL electrical safety program has been developed with these key goals in mind:
- Prevent electrical-related injuries.
- Implement proactive controls across a spectrum of expected hazards
- Educate the lab population about electrical hazards
- Promote a vibrant electrical safety culture
- Demonstrate compliance to established standards
The Electrical Equipment Safety Program (EESP) is a key part of electrical safety at LBNL. All equipment must be approved by a Nationally Recognized Testing Lab (NRTL). ETA has several trained Electrical Equipment Surveyors who can check your equipment to ensure it has NRTL approval:
